About Us

The Choir's main function is to sing for Sunday services at the church. It is a mixed four-part choir of singers from all age-groups. We tackle many pieces in the standard repertory, including settings of Evening Canticles by Howells, Stanford, Sumsion, Noble, Purcell and others.

As well as regular Sunday services, the choir is often asked to sing at weddings and other special occasions.

Along side the regular Friday evening practice, there is also a Tuesday evening practice for the younger choristers, allowing them to work at different levels to improve their singing and general musical ability. We use the RSCM "Voice for Life" scheme which awards the singers for their ability, eventually bringing them to nationally recognised award levels.

To compliment the hard yet fun work that the choir does, there are social events and even choir tours, which give the members further experience, and a great time. Recent tours have included Christ Churhc Cathedral, Dublin in 2008 and Truro Cathedral in 2009. We will be returning to Truro for a fifth time in 2012.
