Northamponshire Grammar School
I am Director of Music at Northamptonshire Grammar School, which is a co-educational independent day school catering for all ages from 3 years upwards.
Please visit the school's website via the link. The school offers excellent opportunities in Music and all other curriculum areas in a spacious and friendly environment.

This is a picture of the Copeman Hart organ arriving through a window in the school chapel in Summer 2004, which was the only way we could get it in!

Education for Church Musicians
The RSCM runs several schemes to help and encourage singers of all ages, organists and all musicians in churches and schools throughout the English-speaking world.

The "Voice for Life" Scheme is a training programme for singers and encourages membership of church choirs.

"Common Worship" has a great deal of new source material which has been and is being developed for use in sung services.

As Area Co-ordinator for the East Midlands   area. I am responsible for liasing with committees in Northampton, Peterborough, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and to offer advice on training programmes.

A few personal details
I am married to Siobhan and live with her and my step-son Will in the village of Old. My hobbies include cricket (watching it these days!), driving my Mazda MX5, eating good food and enjoying warm weather. During the Easter holidays Siobhan and I travelled to Barbados.   See the bottom of the page for my contact details.
The Choir of Kingsthorpe Parish Church
I direct the choir at Kingsthorpe Parish Church, Northampton, which serves one of the largest parishes in the Diocese of Peterborough. In July 2008 we sang services at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin and the Director of Music, Judy Martin, said that we were the best parish church choir she had heard there in the five years she had been in Dublin!
We are always happy to admit new choristers. The choir is a mixed choir and children from the age of 8 are welcomed, as well as adults with singing and music reading experience. We have a full programme of choral training staffed by CRB-approved adults.
I have recently had my introit "I will lift up mine eyes" published by Mallard Music. You can see a sample of this and hear it by going to:
I wrote this for two members of Kingsthorpe Church Choir on the occasion of their wedding.
